  9.    These animated icons were designed to be employed with an eight color
  10.    workbench.   Each one was created as two brushes with DeluxePaint III
  11.    (© Electronic Arts, Inc.), then converted to icons using "brush2icon"
  12.    (author unknown, ref AMICUS.9) and merged into a single animated icon
  13.    using IconMerge (© Comodore-Amiga, Inc., ref Extras Disk).

  15.    To view these images in their original colors, it may be necessary to
  16.    temporarily reset your color registers.   The following table defines
  17.    the proper settings:

  38.    If you haven't yet upgraded to an eight color workbench you may still
  39.    see the icons in all their intended colors.   Beg, borrow or purchase
  40.    a copy of XColor (by Roger Fischlin, ref FISH.244).   It'll allow you
  41.    to add bit-planes and change colors "on the fly".

  43.    Some of these images may seem familiar.   That is no accident.   Many
  44.    of these icons were based on four color icons, some animated and some
  45.    unanimated, that have appeared at various times.   Nonetheless, these
  46.    icons are all of my creation and as such are copyrighted.   The icons
  47.    are freely distributable, with all of the rights and responsibilities
  48.    that implies, provided this text file is included with any subsequent
  49.    redistribution.

  51.    Most of these works are TOOL type icons (normal "brush2icon" output).
  52.    You may wish to convert them to a different icon type before they can
  53.    be utilized.   I employed IconImage (by Denis S. Green, ref FISH.120)
  54.    for that purpose.

  56.    If anyone would like help in implementing an eight color workbench or
  57.    in creating their own custom animated icons I will be happy to answer
  58.    any snail mail inquiries.   In addition, I'll make available a single
  59.    disk containing all the appropriate public domain and shareware tools
  60.    necessary to create and display your own eight color icons.   Also on
  61.    this disk are screen capture programs and a few animated (some should
  62.    be considered as "R-Rated") eight color icons.   If you've a question
  63.    please send a "self addressed stamped envelope" or $5.00 U.S. for the
  64.    disk to me at the address below.
